Welcome, Readers!
This is my first ever blog post, so please bear with me as I work out the kinks and get into my own groove.
That being said, let's dive right in!  One scary part about starting a blog is deciding where to start.   As it happens, necessity bred creativity. I really have no idea how I slept last night, but apparently, it was wrong.  My back has been aching all day, but after getting home from work, I really started to feel it. Taking a deep breath caused the muscles to twinge and ache.  I looked through my assorted bath salts and found my supplies fairly depleted. I didn't even have Epsom salt.  Instead, I decided to go ultra simple.  Once I did, it was clear this should be the start of my  bath blog-simple, effective, and lavender. All I used was:
  • Hot water
  • 5 drops Lavender essential oil
Lavender is one of my favorite essential oils, due to pure versatility (and an amazing scent).  Lavender is supposed to help with headaches (which I get often) and also happens to work as a muscle relaxant, among other things.  Tonight, I tested that. Five drops is subjective. Three would probably do it. I'm not sure how many I actually used, but I was a bit heavy-handed with my oil.  I soaked for quite a while as I had some reading to do (C.S. Lewis' The Great Divorce), but I would suggest at least 15 minutes of nice, soothing breaths of lavender.

Readers, I won't lie to you and say that my back was miraculously healed.  I will say that after the bath, I could take deep breaths without twinging in pain-and that was pretty great.

So there you have it- my first blog post. I hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you have any bath recipes you'd like me to try!
